TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) measures all dissolved minerals and salts in water. Hardness, on the other hand, refers specifically to calcium and magnesium ions—a subset of TDS. High TDS does not necessarily mean hard water, but hard water always contributes to TDS. IonFlow addresses hardness without removing beneficial minerals from the water.

IonFlow helps prevent further scaling and mineral deposits on pipes, fittings, appliances, and tile surfaces. Over time, the restructured water may penetrate beneath existing scale deposits, gradually loosening and removing them. Many customers notice visible improvements on surfaces within the first few weeks. The rate of cleaning naturally slows once the more accessible deposits have been removed. However, heavily scaled internal pipework with low flow rates, such as older GI pipes, may not always be completely descaled.

IonFlow primarily changes the physical properties of water. Parameters such as surface tension are reduced and water's wetting and penetration characteristics are enhanced. These changes can be measured in a laboratory and can also be demonstrated in the field through simple tests such as a lathering test, where IonFlow-treated water typically produces more foam with the same amount of detergent. It also rinses faster and more easily, which can be easily demonstrated within a day of installation. Importantly, TDS and hardness readings would remain unchanged, as IonFlow does not remove the dissolved calcium and magnesium minerals present in the water. Secondary effects will include reductions in certain impurities such as ammonia, nitrates, dissolved silica, fluorine and some organic contaminants, which can be verified through water testing.For most users, the clearest evidence is in everyday use: softer-feeling water, improved soap lathering, cleaner surfaces, softer skin, healthier-feeling hair, and an overall improvement in water quality throughout the home.Cleaner bathrooms & drains – visible improvements will be seen early - within the first couple of weeks. The Home unit is designed to operate across a variable flow range of 300 to 1500 LPH (5 to 25 LPM), making it suitable for a wide variety of residential applications.
